We appreciate each and every LOGO received so far and expect more LOGOs would be presented in the coming days for the consideration of the Association.

Andhra Pradesh Chapter: Byomakesh President, Rajesh General Secretary

Dear IIMCians,

 

The inception meeting of Andhra Pradesh Chapter of IIMC Alumni Association took place at Huda Park, Hyderabad on 25th November 2012. IIMCians present in the meeting condoled the unfortunate sad demise of Late Manoj Kandher.

 

Those who attended the meeting in Huda Park are Byomakesh Biswal, Rudra Narayan Das, Abinash Mohapatra, Jayanta Kumar Sahu, Bikash Kumar Routray, Rabinarayan Samal & Rakesh Kumar Mohanty.

 

In addition to the people who attended the meeting several IIMCians, during the meeting, telephoned the Coordinator Rakesh Kumar Mohanty to express their inability to attend the meet physically due to unavoidable reasons but assured full cooperation in the alumni activities. Many of them assured to accept any responsibility assigned to them by the meeting to strengthen the Association in the state. In continuation with our earlier mail (IIMCAA Logo Design Competition, Last Date 24 November), IIMC Alumni Associstion is extending the deadline for the submission of the LOGOs till 05.00 PM of 28th November, 2012 in the wake of requests made by several IIMCians.

 

We have received 9 LOGOs so far from 3 esteemed IIMCians. We are publishing all these deisgns for the consideration of IIMCians in an album. It would be updated with every new arrival till 05.00 PM of 28th November, 2012. LOGOs are open for voting in the form of LIKES.

Bihar Chapter: Selection of Office Bearers on 8 December

Dear IIMCians,

 

It was great meeting our alumnus of our alma mater- IIMC. Despite festivity fever, we had an attendance of 11 alumnus in the meeting at Patliputra Ashok Hotel, Patna on 21^st November, 2012.

 

IIMCians present in the meeting decided that selection of office bearers be taken up during next meeting on December 8, Sunday. It has been proposed that the next meeting can be held at residence of Mr Shambhu Nath, Vice Chancellor, Patna University or conference hall of Jeevika.

 

It was also estimated that there are more than 40 alumni working or living in Bihar. In the next meeting we will ensure a larger participation and select officer bearers for the Bihar Chapter of IIMC Alumni Association. Suggestions were also made to hold monthly meeting.

IIMCAA Logo Design Competition, Last Date 24 November

Dear IIMCians,

 

The Indian Institute of Mass Communication Alumni Association (IIMCAA) is inviting all IIMCians to design a logo for the Alumni Association.

 

The IIMCAA is looking for a logo, which must show the true character of the Institute and versatile nature of IIMCians. The logo should also showcase the thoughtfulness of IIMCians and represent all sections of mass communication.

 

The IIMCAA invites all IIMCians to submit their logo to us by November 24, 2012. The album having all the logos will be displayed on IIMCAA Page on November 25. The final logo will be selected by the Office Bearers keeping in mind the Facebook 'LIKES' of all IIMCians on logos.

 

Award: The winner will be awarded Lifetime Membership of IIMCAA and a Gift.

 

Rules & Regulations for the Selection of Logo

 

Ø  The logo must have glimpses of the IIMC's logo, which will show the connection between the IIMC and the Alumni Association

 

Ø  Any IIMCian can send his/ her logo with all details (Name, Batch, Contact, Present Job, Address, etc.)

 

Ø  The IIMCAA will post all the received logos on Facebook page on November 25 and voting in the form of LIKES will close on December 1, 2012. The winner will be announced on 2nd December evening.

 

Ø  The Office Bearers will select the winning Logo keeping in mind the 'LIKES' received on Facebook page and their decision will be considered as final. The 'LIKES' on Facebook will be one of the factors resulting in decision.

 

Ø  The Logo must give an idea about the character of the Institute and versatility of IIMCians

 

Ø  The logo should depict/ represent all Departments of the IIMC

 

Ø  The Winner will be announced on 2nd December. He/ She will be awarded Lifetime Membership and a Gift

 

Ø  The Copyright of the winning Logo will be acquired by the IIMCAA after the announcement and the Logo will become the part of its property

 

Ø  The winning Logo will appear on all official Documents, Brochures, Banners, T-Shirts, Sweat-Shirts, Memorabilia, Car stickers, etc.

2 More decisions: IIMCAA Office Bearers Meeting on 11th November

Dear IIMCians,

 

In continuation with the earlier mail dated November 12, 2012 under subject line "Minutes of the office bearers meeting on 11th November", I would like to add two more decisions which were taken in that meeting but were missed in the mail.

 

They were as follows:

 

1. Lifetime Membership: In addition to annual membership fee of 500/- INR there will be a provision of lifetime membership and a member need to pay 10,000/- INR for such membership.

2. Logo of IIMCAA: The Association will invite IIMCians to design a logo to be adopted as the Official LOGO of the IIMC Alumni Association. A competition will be held to select such a LOGO. The designer of the selected logo would have to surrender the logo copyright to IIMCAA. Winner will be awarded with a lifetime membership and a gift at an official function of the IIMCAA.

Delhi IIMC Students Celebrated Diwali with Slum Kids

The current batch of IIMC, New Delhi celebrated Diwali in a heartening way this year. The students of this batch distributed new warm clothes among 50 underprivileged children living in the areas adjacent to the Campus on November 11, 2012.

The proposal was first moved by Hindi Journalism Class Representative Adarsh Shukla, who shared his wonderful idea of distributing sweets & candles in Vasant Vihar slum areas with his classmates.

HJ students later on discussed the beautiful idea with other Departments, Faculty members and Staff of the Institute. Everybody agreed on the same and small contributions were made by HJ, EJ, RTV, AD-PR, Faculty members and Staff. They all raised Rs 5,000/- in just two days.

On November 11, IIMCians assembled again and decided to distribute warm cloths instead of sweets & candles by Rs. 5,000/-. Students bought 50 new warm clothes and distributed among children living on footpaths of Munrika, Ber Sarai and Vasant Kunj areas.

Adarsh Shukla, Anand Dutta, Tarun, Kamini Patil, Aarti, Sumit Bandhu, Asha Kuntiya, Bhaskar, Aditya Kumar, Abhishek Sonkar (all from HJ), Vishwajeet Mukherjee, Aditya Kumar, Abhishek Sonkar (all from EJ), Ankit Roy, Bhavna Chauhan, Mohit Virmani, Nitin Gulati (all from RTV), Indrani, Nitesh, Nandita and Pushpanjali (all from Ad-PR) actively participated in this effort.

IIMC Alumni Association congratulates the students of 2012-13 batch of IIMC, New Delhi for such kind initiative and hope they will continue their generous work in future as well.
