MoM | Jharkhand Chapter Meeting | 27 July, 2014


Dear IIMCians,

Jharkhand Chapter of IIMC Alumni Association met at Hotel Rajasthan, Ranchi on July 27. 

It was presided over by Vice President Mr. Kumar Rajesh and attended by General Secretary Mr. Amit Gupta, Treasurer Mr. Manmohan Singh, Organization Secretary Mr. Anand Dutta and Secretary Mr. Ashwani Kumar Nigam.

Meeting decided to collect some money and send it to Bangalore based alumni fighting cancer Mr. Ajay Anand of 1999-2000 Batch. 

The souvenir of alumni meet 2014 SBI Life Connections 2014 was circulated among present in the meeting. Organisation Secretary Mr. Dutta would hand over the same to remaining alumni who couldn't manage to attend the meeting. 

It was decided to hold next meeting in August.

Hierarchically working under the Head of Communications.

 

PURPOSE OF POST

The Web officer develops and maintains MSF India's Drupal website including web design, implements site code and module updates, and builds pages, applications and mini-sites for the organization. S/he also provides technical support for the development, maintenance, and coordination of the multi-site, multi-lingual Drupal content management system (CMS), used by MSF India and the international MSF movement.

The Web officer also facilitates the publishing of content to meet the needs of various departments and offices at MSF India including Communications, Fundraising, Human Resources recruitment, the Association, Operations in order to promote awareness of MSF's activities in India and around the world (That includes on social media channels).

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

 

  1. MSF India website (www.MSFindia.in): Drupal development, content management, design and monitoring

-          Performs content updates, site administration and maintenance for the public website (www.MSFindia.in);

  1. Other MSF India micro website: development, content management, design and monitoring (Wordpress CMS)

-          Train staff on using Wordpress CMS.

-          monitors site traffic and present the analysis, ensures optimum performance, proper backup and security including the data;

-           implement/code designs from Photoshop or similar design files

-          Stay up to date on the web's latest technologies

  1. International content store and shared CMS.

In collaboration with the international admin group, assists in the maintenance, growth, expansion of features, and technical support for the multisite Drupal platform of which MSF India is a part; performs platform testing, updates/upgrades, backups as needed; manages code changes and Git repository

  1. Digital and Social media

-          Support the Online Fundraising and Social Media officer to create, manage and implement online advertising campaigns to drive traffic and maximise the online visibility of MSF India and increase online donations.

-          Create banners and online advertising campaigns

-          Contribute to the development of the MSF India social media strategy and support the Online Fundraising and Social Media officer to develop multimedia products and digital creative on the MSF India websites and social media channels.

  1. Departmental, Interdepartmental and International coordination

Attends staff meetings and international debates to brainstorm solutions and participate in information sharing across all departments and sections internationally.

Qualifications: Minimum a Graduate Degree.

Work experience: Minimum 4 to 5 years working experience in Digital marketing and social media

This will include collecting content, writing and editing articles, selecting photos, liaising with the designer, and seeing content through the approval process.
  • Ensuring that MSF India's written communications materials are jargon-free, appropriate for the intended audience, and convey MSF India's desired profile as well as the spirit and passion of the organisation.
  • Writing stories of patients, MSF staff and expats from South Asia in order to raise public awareness.
  • Writing web articles and web updates for the www.MSFindia.in and campaign micro sites.
  • Developing and writing campaigns, fundraising, association and recruitment leaflets in order to best attract, engage and retain the respective target groups.

  • Attending regularly scheduled meetings to share information, brainstorm solutions and coordinate priorities with the communications team, the MSF India office, the Access Campaign India, the PR and advocacy coordinator and MSF India operations.

Hierarchically and functionally accountable to the Head of Communications

 

 

 

PURPOSE OF POST

To develop MSF India's social media presence as well as the online promotion of MSF India's campaigns and websites in order to increase the visibility of the MSF brand, to engage with its community of supporters, to increase donor servicing and to maximize the generation of funds online. This will include:

-          Develop, implement, track and optimize MSF India digital marketing campaigns across all digital channels.

-          Engage and grow MSF India's social media community of supporters

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

 

1-      Digital marketing

·         Manage paid search campaigns on multiple online platforms to drive traffic to the MSF India online platforms.

·         Develop web advertising campaigns including paid search, SEO and PPC to drive traffic on all MSF India websites, from initial brief through copy and design development to final delivery, monitoring and optimisation

·         Optimize copy and landing pages of MSF India websites for search engine marketing

·         Manage e-mail campaigns. This includes scheduling of activity, targeting , commissioning content and selection of imagery and multimedia , layout and design – acquire new email subscribers

·         Ensure www.msfindia.in and social channel are both promoted across all online and offline channels.

 

2-      Social media

·         Daily management of social media communications with supporters and interested parties, building relationships with existing supporters and donors online

·         Daily monitoring of social media activity

·         Contribute to the development of the MSF India social media strategy

·         Development of relationships with social media "influencers"

·         Growth of social media networks and audiences

·         Play a key role in responding to "social media emergencies" or controversies in collaboration with the Head of communications.

·         Develop multimedia products and digital creative

 

3-      Monitoring & Evaluation (Metrics)

·         Measure and report performance of all digital marketing campaigns

·         Develop processes and a system for gathering data on audiences reached through our websites and social media

·         Analyse such data on regular basis and report on monthly basis on trends in audience reach in general

·         Report upon request on audience reach relating to specific communications and advise on how MSF India can adjust its approach in order to reach intended audience.

·         Advise on best tools and practices for metrics and analysis.

 

4-       MSF India websites maintenance, development and monitoring (Drupal and Wordpress)

·         Performs content updates, site administration and maintenance for the public website (www.MSFindia.in) using Drupal CMS and the campaign website using Wordpress CMS;

·         Optimize onsite content for maximum visibility and ranking in the major search engines. This includes HTML, site structure, as well as page layout and navigation

·         monitors site traffic and present the analysis, ensures optimum performance, proper backup and security including the data;

REQUIREMENTS

 

Qualifications: Minimum a Graduate Degree.

Work experience: Minimum 4 to 5 years working experience in Digital marketing and social media

Specific Skills

  • Excellent writing skills in English
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms (Facebook, Youtube, Twitter, Flickr etc.)
  • Ability to write engaging posts and Tweets
  • Highly creative with experience in identifying target audiences and devising digital campaigns that engage, inform and motivate
  • Demonstrable experience developing and implementing SEO/SEM, marketing database, email, social media and/or display advertising campaigns
  • Experience in setting up and optimizing Google Adwords campaigns and Facebook ads
  • In-depth experience with website analytics tools (e.g, Google Analytics, NetInsight, Omniture, WebTrends)
  • Experience with bid management tools (e.g., Click Equations, Marin, Kenshoo, Search Ignite)
  • Knowledge of Photoshop, Flash and Final Cut Pro
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript development and constraints
  • Good technical knowledge of Drupal and Wordpress CMS

 

Desirable skills                                  

  • Substantial experience of digital marketing in the not-for-profit sector
  • Writing skills in Hindi
