INVITES APPLICATIONS FOR RECRUITMENT BY SELECTION TO THE FOLLOWING POSTS

Eleven Senior Grade of Indian Information Service, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting

 

Of the eleven posts, one post is reserved for Scheduled Castes candidates, one post is reserved for Scheduled Tribes candidates, two posts are reserved for Other Backward Classes candidates and remaining seven posts are Unreserved.

 

Of the eleven posts, one post each pertains to Hindi , Manipur, Bengali, Telugu, Gujarati language and two posts each pertain to English, Assamese , Kashmiri language, as all the eleven posts are to be filled up language-wise (see relevant Note below).

 

Of the eleven posts, two posts are reserved for Physically Handicapped persons from any community and pertain to Assamese and Kashmiri language respectively and of these two posts, one post is reserved for Physically Handicapped persons with Disability/Disabilities viz. Blindness or Low Vision and remaining one post is reserved for Physically Handicapped persons with Disabilities viz. Orthopaedically Handicapped/Locomotor Disability/Cerebral Palsy with One Arm or One Leg Affected(OA or OL ). The posts are also suitable for Physically Handicapped persons with Disabilities viz. Blindness or Low Vision or Orthopaedically Handicapped/Locomotor Disability/Cerebral Palsy with One Arm or One Leg Affected(OA or OL ).

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

ESSENTIAL:

 

A. EDUCATIONAL:

 i) Degree of a recognised University or equivalent.

ii) Diploma in Journalism from a recognised University/Institution or equivalent.

 

B. EXPERIENCE:

Three years' experience of journalistic, publicity or publication work in a Government Department or any Newspaper/News agency.

 

NOTE : The candidate must have studied the concerned Languages i.e. Hindi or Manipuri or Bengali or Telugu or Gujarati or English or Assamese or Kashmiri Language upto Secondary School level.

 

DUTIES : The officers are required to prepare press notes, publicity materials, editorial material and analysis of Press Comments on current topics, compilation of news bulletins and reporting of news for broadcasting, monitoring of news bulletins by foreign broadcasting stations. Organizing exhibitions, writing scripts/captions, maintenance of register on newspapers in India. Preparation of research/reference paper and background note in the fields of history, economics and current events for use of press, radio, writers etc.
