Members of Andhra Pradesh chapter, IIMCAA joined in the 2nd meeting of this year in HUDA Park, Vanasthalipuram, Hyderabad on 3rd March 2013 at 10am.
The meeting decided to open a joint account in the name of the treasurer and an active member in any bank or post office to save the membership fees and donations conveniently.
The follow up of how far we have realized the plans of the last meeting was done. The members suggested valuable ideas to work on. The meeting decided to address each and every idea one by one.
The members suggested for organizing a workshop on Web Journalism, online media and ethics in which IIMCians and interested journalists and students of different universities can be the beneficiaries. Our member Suchitra Pattnaik (Asst. Prof in Department of Journalism and communication under Central University, Hyderabad) will organize to select the venue in the university campus. Preferably this will be conducted in two sessions- one for journalists and resource persons and another for the students of the university. Along with her, Byomakesh Biswal and Rajesh Parida have taken the responsibility of contacting the resource persons who will share their perceptions and convictions in that field. Some of the IIMCians who they are working in web media will also share their valuable experiences. This workshop will be organized tentatively on 14th April 2013. Information regarding the resource persons and venue will be passed on as soon as it will be decided.
In this session, the members of the chapter were overwhelmed to hear the experiences of Connections'13 held in New Delhi from Rajesh Parida. The souvenirs were distributed among the present members and some of them were sent to the absent members.
The members of A.P. Chapter felicitated the only Campus Wale Couple (CWC) Rudranarayan Das and Suchismita Moharana. Thanks to the IIMCians who they imagined and made it a reality taking from Dil to Delhi. The photos snapped during every important moment have been sent to the national chapter.
It was decided that the membership form will be sent to all the known members and they will forward it to all IIMCians in A.P. they know. The membership drive will be accelerated and very soon all the duly filled forms will be sent to the national chapter as per the rules.
This may be the last but not the least, the members enjoyed the lunch prepared specially by the IIMCians like Bibhu Prasad Barik and Rabinarayan Samal. Every member thanked them for this.

Pune: Minutes of the meeting & get together of March 2
- Opening of a bank account and share the Account number, IFSC Code, Bank and Branch details with all the alumni in the region. The alumni will seriously make a yearly as well as monthly contribution to get ground themselves in various activities in and around Pune.
- The alumni agreed to visit the IIMC Amravati campus, however date is still pending as many senior coordinates were absent for the meet.
- The alumni was overwhelmed to hear the love story of the Pune CWC couple- Rajesh Ranjan and Sangeeta Kumari. Coincidentally, the date of the Alumni meet happened to be the 12th marriage anniversary of the couple. So the duo treated the entire alumni over dinner.
- The alumni also thought of organizing an academic and entertaining event where media and some other discipline can jam up together. The event will welcome papers from young and ambitious journalist, media and other students from Pune University, Symbiosis, etc reputed media colleges. These papers will be sent to the IIMC headquarters in New Delhi for evaluation and the two best papers will win a chance to present themselves at the event as well as get some awards. The event will be followed over lunch/dinner and the alumni can bring in their families, friends and relatives to make the event more grand. However the alumni also believes that getting sponsors for the event will be the main challenge and together as alumni association we will work it out.
- The alumni also decided to make the newsletter a success. Hence every month there will be 2-3 articles written by the association members, including the families. The young member Amrut, son of Rajesh Ranjan and Sangeeta Kumari will pen on his love for football.
- Based on the fun, interactivity and fellow feeling that the entire alumni felt, all decided to make the meet more regular, and soon in two weeks the alumni would be meeting at Amanora Town centre over dinner and movies.
- We have clicked a lot of pictures and will send it you once we get hold of the entire lot.
Thanks for making the association so active and we all loved being a part of it.
Thanks & Regards,
Debarati Mukherjee

Greenpeace Video Contest for Students
Greenpeace is the world's foremost independent, Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), which uses non-violent, creative confrontation to expose global environmental problems and to encourage solutions, which are essential to an environmentally sustainable and peaceful future. Greenpeace has a presence in 38 countries.
In India, Greenpeace has been active in the last 11 years and has successfully exposed several major environment related issues/problems such as Waste management at Kovalam beach, Ship breaking hazards at Alang, Bhopal disaster, Mercury dumping at Kodaikanal, Moratorium on Genetically Modified BT Brinjal, Gujarat earthquake rehabilitation and in many other similar areas, which have a profound impact on India's environment and consequently on her people.
We are working on a crowd sourced video project for which we would like to collaborate with IIMC. Our campaign for sustainable agriculture has met with a tremendous response in offline and online spaces, owing to citizen's obvious concern for the safety of their food.
We believe that a landmark video on this issue will be instrumental in driving much needed awareness. In this regard, we would like to host a short video competition for students of IIMC.
Greenpeace would like to showcase the winning entry on its website and on our social media platforms.

The selected videos will be put up for a vote. The best video and the creator of the same will be featured on all of Greenpeace India's online channels- website, Facebook, Twitter etc. At the same time you will have made so many more people aware about the threat to our food and environment.
