Greenpeace is the world's foremost independent, Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), which uses non-violent, creative confrontation to expose global environmental problems and to encourage solutions, which are essential to an environmentally sustainable and peaceful future. Greenpeace has a presence in 38 countries.
In India, Greenpeace has been active in the last 11 years and has successfully exposed several major environment related issues/problems such as Waste management at Kovalam beach, Ship breaking hazards at Alang, Bhopal disaster, Mercury dumping at Kodaikanal, Moratorium on Genetically Modified BT Brinjal, Gujarat earthquake rehabilitation and in many other similar areas, which have a profound impact on India's environment and consequently on her people.
We are working on a crowd sourced video project for which we would like to collaborate with IIMC. Our campaign for sustainable agriculture has met with a tremendous response in offline and online spaces, owing to citizen's obvious concern for the safety of their food.
We believe that a landmark video on this issue will be instrumental in driving much needed awareness. In this regard, we would like to host a short video competition for students of IIMC.
Greenpeace would like to showcase the winning entry on its website and on our social media platforms.
