Announcement: Two KS Jolly Memorial IIMCAA Scholarships by Deepak Jolly, Consocia Advisory

Dear IIMCians,

IIMC Alumni Association is going to start two new IIMCAA Scholarships from the 2019-20 academic session in memory of veteran journalist and former PTI Deputy General Manager Late Kanwar Sain Jolly, who passed away last week at the age of 86 years.

KS Jolly Memorial IIMCAA Scholarships, for English and Hindi Journalism departments at IIMC, will be supported by Mr. Deepak Jolly, founder of Consocia Advisory and Sashakt Development & Empowerment Foundation in commemoration of his late father. The KS Jolly Memorial IIMCAA Scholarships, in addition to supporting the deserving students, will continue to pass on his legacy, values and vision to the budding journalists of tomorrow.

IIMCAA Scholarship is an initiative started with the support of alumni and well-wishers of IIMC Alumni Association from the academic session 2018-19. 11 IIMCAA Scholarships were awarded to the students of different departments and campuses this year. Addition of two new scholarships will make total 13 IIMCAA Scholarships available for the deserving students next year.

Late Shri Kanwar Sain Jolly, popularly known as KS Jolly and Jolly Sahib by friends and peers, served at various positions for more than 40 years at PTI, retiring as the DeputyGeneral Manager in 1993. Post his retirement from PTI, he advised reputed organisations like KPMG, Pepsi and DuPont. It was the post-economic liberalisation era and Jolly Saab played an instrumental role in helping these global conglomerates understand the business climate in India and help them establish footprints within the country. With the death of KS Jolly, the generation that drove the reporters and editors of the 80s to scale greater heights is almost over. He was honoured with several awards in recognition of his contributions to journalism.

Thanks & Regards,
Harshendra Singh Verdhan
General Secretary
