Germany and India 2011-2012: Infinite Opportunities is a project managed by the Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan New Delhi.
On the occasion of celebrating 60 years of Indo-German diplomatic ties, a series of events will be held, starting in the second half of 2011 and will go on until early 2013.
At present, we require Online Promotions Manager in Safdarjung Enclave, New Delhi.
Area of operations will be our programme calendar www.germany-and-india.com with more than 200 events and pages, our 30,000+ Facebook community www.facebook.com/germanyandindia and other event promotion websites within India. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding on how users interact online and how events are promoted on the Internet.
Experience: 2-5 years in online promotion and/or marketing.
Note: The assignment will be of temporarily nature, as of immediate effect until early 2013.
Note on the project:
The Year of Germany, which carries the motto "Germany and India 2011-2012: Infinite Opportunities", will help reinforce and expand the ties that exist between the two countries. With a focus on 'StadtRäume – CitySpaces', the theme of the event establishes a direct link to the implications of rapid urbanization and change in India.
Germany, the "Land of Ideas", will present itself as an innovative and creative partner, a country that will join hands with India in addressing future issues and target India's urban, education oriented and English-speaking younger generations. The centrepiece of the project is a mobile unit that will tour the country, taking in seven Indian mega cities (Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, Bangalore, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Delhi). The unit will be installed for a period of approximately ten days in each city.
Brief job profile
* Promote events of the year of Germany in India amongst the specific target audience (young, urban, english speaking 25 to 35 age-group) and connect with them across various topics.
* Planning of postings through an editorial calendar and coordination with content partners.
* Adding posts and media online through our Content Management System and on Social Media Platforms like Facebook, Youtube and Twitter.
* Editing of photographs and images for online publishing.
* Moderate social media conversations and events to make sure the posted topics are relevant.
* Manage members by assisting them to make the best use of the community. Advocate and motivate online users and fans.
* Take appropriate action when members violate code of ethics, rules, and policies. Identify threats and opportunities surrounding our brands and content, report to appropriate parties.
Skills
* Proven writing ability.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Interested in various topics ranging from culture, business, science and politics, ideally within the Indo-German context.
* Internet and Social Media savvy.
* Good networking skills and highly motivated individual.
* Ability to work proactively and independently in close collaboration with the communications team.
