1. Master's Degree with at least 55% marks in Media Studies/Communication/Journalism or related areas.  

2. 15 years of work experience in the area of Development Communication, of which at least 8 years should be in senior positions of Advocacy/Communication Strategy.  

DESIRABLE:  

Teaching experience at the post-graduate level.    

2. Professor (Hindi Journalism)

1. An eminent scholar with Ph.D. qualification in Media Studies/Communication/Journalism or related areas and published work of high quality. Actively engaged in research, with evidence of published work with a minimum of 10 publications as books and/or research / policy papers in indexed / ISBN /ISSN numbered journals and as ISBN/ISSN numbered books.  

2. A minimum of 10 years of teaching experience in university/college, and /or experience in research at University/National Level institutions, including experience of guiding candidates for research at the doctoral level.  

3. Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, and technology-mediated teaching learning process.

3. Professor (English Journalism)

1. An eminent scholar with Ph.D. qualification in Media Studies/Communication/Journalism or related areas and published work of high quality. Actively engaged in research with evidence of published work with a minimum of 10 publications as books and/or research / policy papers in indexed / ISBN /ISSN numbered journals and as ISBN/ISSN numbered books.  

2. A minimum of 10 years of teaching experience in university/college, and /or experience in research at University/National Level institutions, including experience of guiding candidates for research at the doctoral level.

3. A minimum of eight years of experience of teaching and/or of research in a regular position equivalent to that of Assistant Professor in a University/College or Accredited Research Institution with evidence of published work with a minimum of 5 publications as books and/or research/policy papers in indexed/ISBN/ISSN numbered journals and as ISBN/ISSN numbered books.  

4. Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, and technology-mediated teaching learning process, with evidence of having guided doctoral candidates and research students.  

5. A satisfactory score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) system developed by UGC, wherever applicable.  

OR  

1. Master's Degree with at least 55% marks.  

2. Experience of at least 12 years in the media sector, of which at least 8 years should be in senior positions and 5 years should be with new media and with a good understanding of the technological requirements, content development, and evaluation/impact study tools of new/convergent media.  

DESIRABLE:  

1. Post Graduate Diploma in Mass Communication/ Journalism.  

2. Teaching experience at the post graduate level.

 

5. Associate Professor (Integrated Marketing Communication)

1. Good academic record with a Ph.D. degree / Fellowship in Management / Marketing or allied disciplines.  

2. 55% of the marks, or equivalent grade wherever grading system is followed at the Master's degree level.  

3. A minimum of eight years of experience of teaching and/or of research in a regular position equivalent to that of Assistant Professor in a University/College or Accredited Research Institution, with evidence of published work in the field of Advertising / Brand Management / Integrated Marketing Communication with a minimum of 5 publications as books and/or research/policy papers in indexed/ISBN/ISSN numbered journals and as ISBN/ISSN numbered books.  

4. Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, and technology-mediated teaching learning process.  

5. A satisfactory score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) system developed by UGC, wherever applicable.  

OR  

1. An MBA/PGDM/ Master's Degree in Mass Communication/ Communication Management or related areas with at least 55% marks in the subject from an IIM/equivalent institute of higher learning.

2. 12 years' experience in an Advertising Agency/ Corporate Sector organization in brand management of which at least 8 years should be in a senior management position.  

DESIRABLE:  

Teaching experience at the post-graduate level.

 

6. Associate Professor (Communication & Media Research)

1. Good academic record with a Ph.D. degree in Media Studies / Communication / Journalism / Social Sciences or related areas.  

2. 55% of the marks, or equivalent grade wherever grading system is followed at the Master's degree level.  

3. A minimum of eight years of experience of teaching and/or research in a regular position equivalent to that of Assistant Professor in a University/College or Accredited Research Institution, excluding the period of Ph.D. research, with evidence of published work and a minimum of 5 publications as books and/or research/policy papers in indexed/ISBN/ISSN numbered journals and as ISBN/ISSN numbered books.  

4. Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, and technology- mediated teaching learning process with evidence of having guided doctoral candidates and research students.

8. Assistant professor (Advertising- Media Planning)

1. Good academic record with at least 55% of the marks or equivalent grade where grading system is practiced at the Master's Degree level in a relevant subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.  

2. Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate should have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC.  

3. Holders of Ph.D. degrees shall be exempted from NET. NET shall also not be required for such Masters Programmes in disciplines for which NET is not conducted.  

OR  

1. MBA / PGDM / Master's degree in Mass Communication / Media Planning/ Communication Management or related areas, with at least 55% marks.  

2. Five years' work experience in an Advertising Agency / Media Buying Agency. Hands- on experience on Media software such as TAM and IRS is a must.  

DESIRABLE:  

Teaching experience at the undergraduate / post-graduate level.  

9. Assistant Professor (Hindi Journalism)- Reserved for PH Category (orthopedically)

1. Good academic record with at least 55% of the marks or equivalent grade where grading system is practiced at the Master's Degree level  in Mass Communication/Journalism or related areas from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.

Inclusive Media Fellowships for Hindi, English Journalists; Deadline: Sept 30

Inclusive Media for Change, a Centre for Study of Developing Societies (CSDS) initiative, invites applications for media fellowships for journalists in English and Hindi for 2011.

The fellowships are open to journalists working for newspapers/ magazines/ radio or TV channels on themes of India's rural crises.

The last date for submission of applications is 30 September 2011.

Requirement: The ideal candidates would be willing to spend two to three weeks with rural communities and write series of stories or make radio/ TV programmes on grassroots issues that require wider coverage and policy debates.

The fellowship duration is three to six weeks and the amount is Rs. 150,000 including travel and incidental expenses.

Rules and Regulations

The applications should include a cover letter and the candidate's CV (strictly within 3 A4 pages) along with the following:

* A clearly defined project proposal not to exceed 500 words. For tips please go to the website of the Inclusive Media for Change (im4change.org) and click on "fellowship" section.
* A break up of at least 5 story ideas based on the project proposal (within 200 words). Going through stories of last year's Inclusive Media Fellows on the website would give you an idea of the stories written.
* A rough break-up of travel/ boarding requirements (within Rs. 55,000). Please mention the places you want to visit and a rough breakup of what you expect to be your expenditure.
* Two samples of published work (or Radio/TV programmes) in English or Hindi. For electronic stories, please use CD/ DVD and post it to us clearly marked your name and the title of the story.
* A supporting letter from the editor assuring leave for 4 weeks and agreeing to use the fellowship output in the publication (Free lancers must procure a supporting letter from the editor of a publication/ channel agreeing to use the fellowship output)
* A letter of recommendation about the candidate's past record, journalistic abilities and suitability for the project. (Letter of recommendation could be from your teacher, employer or former or present editor who is familiar with your work. The letter of recommendation should not be confused with the Employer's/editor's supporting letter.
