Dear Journalists,
IIMC Alumni Association [IIMCAA] is now in its 7th year of the IIMCAA Awards. We are announcing entries open for IIMCAA Awards 2023.
We have added a new category of award open for all journalists whether alumni of IIMC or not. The new award is Journalist of the Year which carries a cash prize of 150,000 INR inclusive of taxes. This is a competitive category award open to all journalists.
Journalist of the Year - Excellent journalistic work in any form of publishing, broadcasting or digital in English, Hindi or any other Indian language.
Criteria and Rules of IIMCAA Awards 2023- Journalist of the Year
1. Applicants should be a journalist whether an alumnus of IIMC or not.
2. Applicants can send only one outstanding work/designated series done during 1 January, 2022 to 31 December, 2022 as an entry.
3. Entries to be sent at awards@iimcaa.in with category name in subject line.
4. Applicants must attach a brief essay, maximum in 200 words, about the work justifying the entry for the awards.
5. Entries acceptable only in PDF, JPEG, URL or PPT format. The size of the attachments must be less than 5 MB.
6. An applicant can apply for only one category in a particular year.
7. Recommendation letter from the Head of the organisation or Reporting Manager is required for all such entries which don't carry by-line/ credit to the applicant. By-line/ credited entries do not require any such recommendation.
8. Work in English, Hindi or any Indian language will be considered without favour or prejudice. If the entry is in any language other than Hindi or English then the applicant has to provide a suitable translation in English or Hindi to enable the judging process.
9. IIMCAA Central Committee members do not qualify for any award.
10. Name of the organisation of winners, designation or freelance status will be recognized in certificates and trophies of IIMCAA Awards 2023.
11. Deadline to submit the entries for IIMCAA Awards 2023 is 10 January 2023.
12. If the jury doesn't find any suitable entry then the award may be dropped for this year.
13. The decision of the jury will be final and can't be contested in any court.
14. Applicants have to submit a typed or handwritten undertaking duly signed by applicant, text is given below:-
I have read all rules and agree to all terms and conditions of the IIMCAA Awards 2023.
I declare that there is no legal notice or legal proceedings pending or settled with regard to the entry submitted. If at any time it is found that I have withheld any information regarding the entry and its disclosures then the entry could be disqualified or the award withdrawn at the discretion of the jury and IIMCAA.
I authorise IIMCAA to use my name, photograph, organisation name and entry for promoting the IIMCAA Awards in all communication mediums. I will accept the final results of IIMCAA Awards 2023.
